Dr. Hizal Hanis Bin Hashim is Head of Corporate Communications and Knowledge Management at the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS). With extensive expertise in transportation policy, road safety, and sustainable urban mobility, he bridges research, policy, and public engagement to promote safer and more efficient transport systems.
He currently leads a feasibility study on congestion charging in Kuala Lumpur, aimed at reducing traffic congestion, lowering greenhouse gas emissions, and promoting public transport. The project incorporates global best practices from Singapore and London while adapting to Malaysia's socio-economic context, aligning with Malaysia's decarbonisation agenda and long-term sustainable mobility goals.
